These oversized, 12" x 17" hardcovers were created to give fans the feeling of owning original, hand-drawn, comic book art boards at their original size without spending hundreds of dollars per page. Every book came in its own custom, corrugated mailer box for protection, each with a 4" x 6" label for easy identification.

 

Dynamite also wanted to offer signed and remarked deluxe editions by artist Walter Simonson. Rather than just a standard tip-in plate, I had the idea of doing something they had never done before: adding an affixed sleeve to the front-inside-cover to those deluxe editions to hold a signed and remarked print of one of his covers. This way fans would have what would appear to be a piece of original art signed by Walter Simonson, suitable for framing.​
