KEVIN SMITH'S SMODCOMICS

When acclaimed filmmaker Kevin Smith approached Dynamite about creating a custom comic to promote his new film at the Sundance Film Festival, I was tasked with creating a logo that would act as an imprint for this and similar, future endeavors. Named "Smodcomics" after his Smodcast series of podcasts (logo shown here as well), I wanted to keep the overall styling similar for brand recognition. I chose to replace the previous logo's radio waves with a traditional comic book duo tone pattern inside of a word balloon to both represent comic books, as well as to act as a play on the beloved director's notoriously verbose style.
