Dynamite's hardcover collection of Will Eisner's The Spirit Returns collected the complete, 12-issue series. For my design, I wanted to focus on the well-known contrast of the character's light blue suit and bright red tie throughout. This started with the matte-finish, blue cover with the UV spot gloss red logo (and art insert), included the bright red end papers, interior pages consisting almost completely of blue with the exception of the red highlights from the spirit's tie in the small inserts (featuring different images by interior artist Dan Schkade on every page), and was all pulled together with the bright red bookmark ribbon meant to remind readers of the tie itself.Additionally, legendary creator Will Eisner was known for using typography in his panels in unique ways, so I also wanted to at least give a small nod to this in how I used the titles and headers throughout.
