JAMES BOND: VARGR GRAPHIC NOVEL

GRAPHIC NOVEL:
James Bond: Vargr by Dynamite - the first James Bond comic in twenty years. For the Bond collections, I wanted to give the reader an experience similar to watching a Bond film, so unlike any collection Dynamite had ever published, I pushed the title, credits, etc. until after a cold open, similar to the movies. Interior artist Jason Masters' art that I chose for the front cover had a striking use of the color yellow, so I decided to incorporate that into my design throughout the interior of the book as a way to highlight action elements in the art.

note: this James Bond logo and the top stripe front cover dress (only with a pattern that I removed to better match the interior designs of the book) were originally designed by Rian Hughes.
ADS:
For the initial wave of ads for Dynamite's James Bond series, I wanted something striking yet simple to tease the series. Since the movie studio, not Ian Fleming's estate, owns the rights to the classic, looking down the rifling of the gun imagery, I leaned heavily on the silhouette of Bond's famous Walther, and his 007 designation. Since for many of these ads the books were incomplete, I was forced to use B/W interior art, but I believe that it helped make for some great and moody visuals.
